Have you already watched the ancient-costume Chinese drama <Story of Yanxi Palace> (Chinese: 延禧攻略)?

Although this drama may show you a wide variety of human dark sides, the characters are quite vivid and interesting.

Bad people do bad things, but yet they still have their weak points and some people whom they care very much. Good people may do good things in the beginning, later on, when they come to realize that sometimes doing immoral things may help them survive better, they change.

The main female character Wei Ying Luo is very brave and smart. Although she does things to trap bad people and take revenge on people who have hurt her or her beloved one, she is kind in nature. She has courage to fight against the difficult situations. She dares to love and dares to hate and dares to take revenge. She never tries to take the first step to hurt the other people. But when someone treats her or her beloved ones badly, she thinks about revenge.

Although it seems that this drama mainly talks about the cat fights among women who want to be loved and get higher position, it shows many interesting human thoughts and actions.
